During the meeting, acting BEB Director Andrey Pashchuk presented the results of the department’s work in this area. According to him, since September 14 last year, BEB detectives seized almost 160 million pieces of tobacco products, National Police officers – more than 37 million pieces, and the State Border Service – 36 million piece.
The participants of the meeting also discussed the legislative proposals sent from the BEB to the Cabinet of Ministers: on the introduction of registers of producers and processors of tobacco, approval of the standard of total losses and waste of raw materials tobacco materials at the level of 5% of the total volume and the development of an algorithm for blocking payments when buying or selling illegal products that are removed.
In connection Ukrtyutyun noted that they generally support such BEB proposals and believe that their implementation can have a positive impact on reducing the shadow segment.
“We thank the BEB for its work, the results we see in the market. It is very nice that they have an open dialogue with us, include us in the discussion of bills. For our part, we are ready to provide any assistance in the implementation of law that is not prohibited by law; the shadow market is a common problem of the state and legal business. It can be solved only by joining forces,” said the association’s general director Natalya Fesyun.
We remind you that in Bukovina a few days ago, the third truck in a month with smuggled cigarettes was stopped. They tried to get 64 thousand packs of cigarettes abroad.
And now it became known that smugglers who used drones to smuggle cigarettes across the border were detained in Volyn.
