Border guards aren’t sure the Poles are reporting the necessary amount of humanitarian aid going to Ukraine.
Due to protests by Polish farmers on the border with Ukraine, there are problems with the delivery of humanitarian aid. This was announced by the representative of the State Border Service Andrei Demchenko in a telethon on Friday, February 16.
“With the number of border crossings that we currently have due to the movement of cargo vehicles, I have doubts that the participants in this blockade are missing the necessary amount of humanitarian aid that goes to Ukraine in all directions,” said he.
The spokesman of the State Border Guard Service emphasized that traffic is limited and the number of border crossings for trucks is very small, so a queue is formed on the territory of Poland, and “apparently, they do not separate cargo vehicles carrying humanitarian aid or other important cargo transiting Ukraine.”
When asked if humanitarian aid was stuck at the border, Demchenko replied: “Probably, yes.”
We remind you that on the morning of February 16, Polish farmers blocked five checkpoints on the Ukrainian border. There are 1,400 trucks lined up.
As you know, on February 20, Polish farmers will block all border crossings between Poland and Ukraine. The blockade will also affect roads to railway transshipment stations and ports.
