Canadian sanctions were also lifted against the former deputy chairmen of the board of Sberbank and a member of the Board of Directors of Gazprom.
The Canadian government lifted sanctions against four people, including Olga Aiziman, the ex-wife of Russian billionaire Mikhail Fridman. The corresponding decision of the regulatory authorities is published by the Canada Gazette newspaper.
It noted that Aiziman, who was sanctioned by Canada in May 2022, no longer meets the criteria for the imposition of restrictions.
According to Politico, sanctions in Canada were also lifted from the former deputy chairmen of the board of Sberbank Alexandra Buriko and Sergei Maltsev and member of the Gazprom Board of Directors Alexander Dushka. All three were sanctioned by Canada along with Iziman.
Ayziman was removed from the EU sanctions list last year. However, the woman continues to be under sanctions from Ukraine, Switzerland and the UK.
Let’s recall that Canada previously lifted sanctions against the Russian oligarch, the founder of the investment holding Finstar Financial Group, Oleg Boyko.
The UK has lifted personal sanctions imposed against Russian businessman and Tinkoff Bank founder Oleg Tinkov.
