A separate resolution is also being prepared on regulations for the sampling of hemp during flowering to assess the content of narcotic substances.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food is preparing a draft order to create a register of hemp producers. This was said by the First Deputy Minister Taras Vysotsky, the press service of the department reported on January 31.
According to him, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy is already working on a draft order to create a register of industrial hemp producers and a draft government resolution on regulations for sampling for testing the content of narcotics substance.
“The Ministry of Agrarian Policy will create an electronic register where information about industrial hemp producers will be entered. To clarify who grows, how much and what kind of seeds they use. There is no need to get of licenses, quotas or separate permits for cultivation. A government order is also being prepared on regulations for sampling hemp during flowering,” said Vysotsky.
The deputy minister added that the draft order will be published for public discussion.
The law on the circulation of industrial hemp is an impetus to realize the enormous potential of growing this plant in Ukraine, the deputy minister said.
Let’s recall that in December last year, the Verkhovna Rada voted in the second reading for the legalization of medical cannabis in Ukraine. The law will enter into force six months after its publication – in the second half of 2024.
