Only in the second half of 2023, 1.46 thousand cyber incidents were recorded and investigated in Ukraine.
Last year in Ukraine, the number of cyber attacks increased by 15.9% compared to 2022, to 2,543 incidents. This was reported by the press service of the State Special Communications Service, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
According to the government’s computer emergency response team CERT-UA, 347 cyberattacks were recorded against government and government organizations, 276 against local governments, 175 against organizations in the security and defense sector, and 127 against commercial organizations.
Another 92 times were attacked in the energy sector, 81 in telecom, 38 in educational institutions, 32 in the transport industry, 30 in the financial sector, 25 in the IT sector, 15 in media, 12 in medical institutions .
In the second half of 2023 alone, 1.46 thousand cyber incidents were recorded and investigated. The attacks were mainly aimed at ministries and other government bodies, as well as critical infrastructure.
Cyber police previously reported that more than 4,000 cybercrime indictments were brought to court last year. Almost 144 million hryvnias of damages were paid. Almost 13 thousand enemy web resources were also blocked.
