Over the past year, Ukraine’s total debt increased in dollar terms by $33.9 billion, or 30.4%, to $145.32 billion, and in hryvnia terms by UAH 1 trillion 444.0 billion, or 35.4%, to 5 trillion 519.5 billion UAH.
At the same time, direct public debt increased by 34.4% – to $136.59 billion or up to 5 trillion 188.1 billion UAH, and reached 94.0% of the total amount of public and guaranteed state debt.
It is reported that last year’s external direct debt increased by 49.1%, or $31.20 billion, to $94.79 billion, while internal direct debt increased by 14.2%, or UAH 198.0 billion, to 1 trillion 587.7 billion UAH.
The total external public debt of Ukraine in 2023 increased by 42.3%, or by $30.23 billion, to $101.70 billion, while the total internal debt increased by 13.3%, or by UAH 194.6 billion, to 1 trillion 656.5 billion UAH.
As a result, the share of total external public debt increased to 70.0%.
