The movement of the mortgage segment remains a lending preference within the framework of the Oselya program, the regulator said.
Ukrainian banks issued 937 mortgage loans in November 2023 for a total amount of UAH 1.5 billion. The National Bank announced this on Tuesday, January 23.
It is indicated that it is 13.4% more in number and 13.7% more in value than in October last year.
“The movement of the mortgage segment remains the lending preference under the program єOselya“, said the regulator.
In total, seven banks reported issuing new mortgages in November, lending for housing purchases mainly in the secondary real estate market.
At the same time, the weighted average effective rate on mortgage loans in November decreased slightly – to 7.6% compared to 7.8% in October.
Regionally, more mortgage loans were issued in November by:

in Kyiv and the Kyiv region – 441 contracts for the total amount of UAH 771.5 million (52.8% of the total);

in Lviv region (50 contracts for 90 million UAH);

in Vinnytsia region (52 contracts for 81.2 million UAH);

in the Rivne region (46 contracts for UAH 69.1 million).
We remind you that Ukraine plans to expand the affordable mortgage program єOselya for all categories of citizens. Ukrainians who do not have their own housing can participate in it. They will have a preferential annual rate of 7% in Hryvnia.
