Congressman Sean Kasten (D-Ill.) Shared more information about the death of his 17-year-old daughter, Gwen, and revealed that she died in her sleep.
The congressman’s office said in a brief tweet Monday that Gwen died that morning. The Downers Grove Police Department said he was called to a suburban home in Chicago just before 7 a.m., where the teenager was found without a response and first responders determined he was dead. The Chicago Tribune reported this.
“We had a family dinner on Sunday night and then he left with his friends for a few hours.” When he got home he said good night to me and Kara, I wrote to a friend for make sure he gets home safely and doesn’t wake up on Monday morning, ”he wrote.
“All we know about his death is peace. And the only lesson we can learn is to enjoy the moments with loved ones. We want purpose. We want to believe in a brighter tomorrow. But the only thing we can control is our present ”.

Kasten said her daughter is a “cheerful, healthy and well-to-do young woman” waiting to begin her first year at the University of Vermont, where she plans to study environmental science.
He was fascinated with music and activity. He played trumpet in a jazz group, a woodwind ensemble and an orchestra at Downers Grove North High School.
After filming at a school in Parkland, Florida in 2018, Gwen was inspired to create an empowerment club in her high school, which became one of the largest clubs in the school, “focused on everything from preventing armed violence to environmental protection, the LGBTQ alliance and black life. “It’s important that students register to vote,” Kasten wrote.
According to Gwen’s Twitter bio, she is also the co-founder of the Illinois section of March For Our Lives, a student-led movement born after the Parkland shooting that fights to end gun violence.
