The Polish government plans to accept all three demands from farmers and start implementing them.
The Polish Ministry of Agriculture said it was ready to fulfill all three demands of farmers who threatened to continue their protest at the Ukrainian border. This was stated by Deputy Minister Michal Kołodziejczak on January 3, writes RMF24.
“The Ministry accepts all three demands of the farmers and accepts them for implementation,” he said, commenting on the demands of the farmers’ association. The village cheatedto continue the protest at the Medika-Shegini checkpoint.
Among other things, farmers want more subsidies for corn producers, more money for liquidity loans and keeping the farm tax at current levels next year.
“We are talking about maintaining the agricultural tax at the level of 2023. It will increase – it depends on the price of rye. Amendments to the law have been prepared here, which should be adopted by the Seimas. Those local governments that agree to apply tax breaks will receive state compensation,” said Kolodziejczak.
We remind you that Polish farmers started blocking the Medice crossing from November 23, 2023.
On December 24, they announced that they would suspend their protest until early January, and if their demands were not met, they could resume it on January 4.
