A man won $30,000 from a lottery ticket he received as a Christmas present.
A Maryland couple received a lottery ticket for Christmas and won a $30,000 prize. This was reported by UPI.
As the winner told lottery representatives, he and his best friend have a Christmas tradition of giving each other scratch tickets.
“We’ve been buying each other tickets as Christmas gifts for years. We always get a small win or two, but not this much,” he said.
The present gift, a Peppermint Payout Multiplier ticket, brought the man a $30,000 prize.
“I thought there was some kind of mistake here. I couldn’t believe I had $30,000 in my hands. We screamed with joy for a long time,” the winner recalled.
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, said he plans to use his winnings to get out of debt.
It was previously reported that the American won the jackpot of $4 million.
