The Dutch government has allocated 102 million euros as part of the first support package for Ukraine in 2024. This is part of the assistance allocated by the country’s authorities of more than 2 billion euros, the government website reported on Thursday, December 21.
The money is allocated for the first four months of next year to “help Ukraine survive the winter and prepare for spring.”
The support package from the Netherlands is sent to:
-
€15 million for humanitarian aid through the UN OCHA Ukrainian Humanitarian Fund;
-
15 million euros for the demining of agricultural lands and liberated areas;
-
€62 million to support the Government of Ukraine in providing basic services, restoring critical infrastructure and achieving reforms through the Special Program for the Recovery of Ukraine and Moldova (SPUR), part of the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank;
-
10 million euros for the restoration of the Ukrainian power grid.
In November it became known that the Netherlands has reserved 2 billion euros for Ukraine. Most of this money will go to military aid.
Let us remind you that in 2024 the Netherlands will provide Ukraine with shells worth 500 million euros – for tanks and artillery systems.
It is also known that Ukraine will receive F-16s from the Netherlands next year.
