Both wells were drilled in the same field – a sidetrack was made in one of them, the second one was put into operation after drilling.
In Ukraine, two high-yield gas wells were installed in one field. Ukrgasvydobuvannya reported this on Tuesday, December 19
It is indicated that the first well was drilled in 1975, but then became inactive due to technical complications. After the analysis, a decision was made to drill a sidetrack and further perform several stages of hydraulic fracturing (fracture).
“This strategy has been successful, providing more than 100 thousand cubic meters of gas for the country,” said the head of Ukrgasvydobuvannya Oleg Tolmachev.
The second appraisal and production well also produces more than 100 thousand cubic meters. m of gas thanks to the successful selection of the drilling location and four stages of hydraulic fracturing.
According to the message, an active drilling plan will be implemented in this field starting in 2021. In the past year and a half, despite the martial law and difficulties associated with it, the existing stock has been replenished with 15 new production wells , and several more are being drilled and tested. This year, for the first time in more than 10 years, the field will return to annual production of more than 1 billion cubic meters. m.
Let us remind you that in November a record gas well began to operate in the Carpathians. A promising deposit was discovered in a field that was considered depleted.
And in August, a new gas field was discovered in Ukraine, the reserves of which may reach 1 billion cubic meters.
