The average dollar rate in exchange offices increased to 37.75 UAH, and the euro rate increased to 41.15 UAH.
The exchange rate of the hryvnia fell significantly against the dollar and the euro at the exchange offices. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with market monitoring data on Tuesday, December 19.
So, the average dollar rate increased by 15 kopecks – to 37.75 UAH, the euro rate increased by 15 kopecks – to 41.15 UAH.
Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 37.25 hryvnia, euros for 40.45 hryvnia.
In the interbank market, the American currency was at the level of 37.25-37.27 (buying and selling) – an increase of 13 kopecks compared to the previous day’s close.
The day before, the National Bank increased the dollar exchange rate to a historical record – 37.1924 UAH per 1 dollar (+0.1713 UAH). The euro exchange rate is 40.5918 UAH per 1 euro (+0.0796 UAH).
As you know, from December 1, the National Bank removed all restrictions on the sale of cash money to the population. After that, cash and official rates began to converge. The regulator believes this will help stabilize exchange rate expectations and increase the stability of the foreign exchange market.
It was also reported that last week the NBU sold a record amount of foreign currency in two months.
