Ukrenergo will receive 150 million euros from the EBRD

In cooperation with the EBRD, projects are being implemented for the comprehensive renewal of the Ukrainian backbone networks.

Ukraine agreed to attract 150 million euros from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to support the NEC Ukrainergo. Prime Minister Denis Shmigal announced this on Telegram on Friday, December 15.

“We signed the relevant agreements today. This is a significant contribution of partners to Ukraine’s energy security and stable energy supply to Ukrainian consumers,” Szmigal wrote.

According to the prime minister, projects for the comprehensive renewal of the Ukrainian backbone networks are also being implemented in cooperation with the EBRD.

“We are grateful to the EBRD, personally to Madam President Odile Renaud-Basso and to all our partners for supporting Ukraine’s energy sector,” he concluded.

Earlier it became known that the contributions to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine amounted to almost 400 million euros. The money came from Switzerland, Belgium, Germany and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
