On the 30th of fall in Kiev, a local business network of “Drinks of Ukraine” was formed, bringing together beverage distributors, retail representatives and post-packaging suppliers.
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of AB InBev Efes Ukraine Denis Khrenov became a participant in the discussion panel “Expanding the diversity of manufacturers. Practices in Vietnam.”
At the end of the panel, the participants discussed the problem of waste management, which is one of the biggest environmental challenges facing Ukraine today. On the contrary, the best practice for dealing with emissions is the practice of European countries, which is based on Directive 2008/98/EC. Vaughn places maximum focus on recycling resources, resource conservation and replacing primary natural resources with secondary ones. Thus, the Directive helps to reverse the negative impact on the economy and ensure the conservation of natural resources, as well as the clear regulation of food production and waste management.
Let’s look at one of the important points of the Directive: the principle of extended range of production (EVR). Therefore, the processor himself is responsible for the packaging and the products inside it, and can ensure separate collection, transfer for processing and repackaging. An additional necessary element for the full operation of the extended-range generator system is special marking.
Today in Ukraine there is still no implementation of the RVV mechanism by adopting unnecessary legislation. The work of legislators has been directly troubling for over 10 years. On their side, Ukrainian producers are also actively promoting the development of legislative proposals and fully valid instruments for the promotion of an effective RVV system.
“There is a very positive movement. As far as we understand, there is a plan to adopt the law in 2024,” commented Denis Khrenov.
As a socially responsible enterprise with long-term development, AB InBev Efes Ukraine in its work strives for the principles of a large selection of natural resources and a consistent use of outputs. One of the company’s environmental goals until 2025 is to use 100% recycled packaging from recycled materials. Thus, the company will change the use of primary packaging materials and increase the amount of recyclable packaging, such as from a keg and a recirculating bottle, thereby accommodating the change in packaging inputs .
“Our company is one of the largest wine bottlers in Ukraine, and we also have a wide range of packaging – both disposable and multi-use, which, by the way, is the most environmentally friendly and we will support the system of water supply. has been working on the development of the RVV system for a long time “We are ready to go to the market, if the working system of entering the outlets is clear,” said Denis Khrenov at the time of his promotion.
In the opinion of Denis Khrenov, the system of expanded availability of production is a form of self-organization of enterprises for coordinating efforts for separate collection and further processing of packaging outputs. In other words, the company AB InBev Efes Ukraine is an active supporter of RVV and has an effective and efficient system, both for the manufacturer and for the delivery of packaged products.
“Whose work is directly related to” UKRPEK “and at the same time to other great companies. It is important that the main thoughts in the development of RVV are the praise of the relevant legislation and the highest level of organizational moments in the most soon and the creation of legal provisions for the organization-operator of the market for the separate collection of outputs, related to this process will require the removal of permission from the AMCU, “he added.
The system of extended availability of production effectively combines business intelligence and the understanding of the principles of proper waste classification. The overwhelming situation for the population becomes an obligatory part of the RVV promotion strategy.
