This money will be used to finance priority budget expenditures, said Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.

Ukraine received a tranche under an International Monetary Fund program for nearly $900 million. About that reported Prime Minister Denis Shmygal on the X network (Twitter) on Thursday, December 14.

“Ukraine received about $900 million in its accounts from the IMF. These funds will be used to finance priority budget expenditures,” he wrote.

The prime minister thanked the head of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieva, and the fund’s staff “for quick decisions in favor of Ukraine and high appreciation of Ukraine’s efforts to carry out reforms.”

Earlier this week, the IMF Board of Directors approved the second revision of the extended lending program – we are talking about the third phase for Ukraine.

We remind you that in November the IMF improved the forecast for Ukraine’s GDP by half – to 4.5% by the end of 2023. At the same time, in October, the fund predicted the growth of this indicator at the level of 2%, and the fund management level statements sounded even from 1%.
