The publication reminds that oil consumption has continued after the recession caused by the coronavirus pandemic, and is expected to exceed 2019 levels this year, despite record prices.

OPEC plans to publish the first demand forecast for 2023 in a month.

According to media reports, OPEC expects global demand to grow by 2 million bpd or less by 2023, compared to the expected increase of 3.36 million bpd this year.

“Even if it’s just 1 million barrels per day, growth is still there,” the delegate comments on forecasts for next year.

Recall that OPEC countries decided to increase production in July and August by 648 thousand barrels per day – 50% more than planned.
