In the third quarter of this year, a GDP decline of more than 10% was recorded compared to the second quarter, according to current data.
In the third quarter of 2023, Ukraine’s real gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 0.7%, while in the previous quarter it increased by 0.8%. This is confirmed by the operational assessment of the State Statistics Service, published on Monday, December 11.
“Real GDP in the third quarter of 2023 increased by 0.7% compared to the previous quarter (seasonally adjusted), and by 9.3% compared to the second quarter of 2022,” the report said.
At the same time, in the second quarter, an increase in GDP of 19.5% was recorded after a fall of 10.5% in the first quarter and 31.4% in the fourth quarter of 2022.
We would like to remind you that in October, Ukraine’s GDP growth accelerated to 10.5%. This is facilitated by the stable situation in the energy sector and the operation of a corridor for the movement of ships in the ports of Greater Odessa.
In turn, the National Bank expects GDP growth of 4.9%. At the end of October, the regulator upgraded its macro forecast for 2023 for the third time.
