The company has completed all repairs of thermal power plants planned for the start of the heating season. Currently, 23 blocks have been repaired.
To ensure reliable operation of thermal generation in winter, DTEK spent more than 3.4 billion hryvnias on repair work at the company’s thermal power plants. The company’s press service reported this on Saturday, December 9.
So, during 11 months of this year, 21 scheduled repairs were carried out on the power units of the thermal power plant (so far – 23).
The General Director of DTEK Energy Ildar Saleev noted that due to the occupation, destruction and damage of the Russian army, the Ukrainian energy system entered the current heating period with the lowest of its own power reserves. As a result, during periods of shortage, Ukraine is forced to import electricity from abroad.
“For our part, in order to operate at maximum capacity in the winter, we carried out all the repairs of the thermal power plant that were planned before the start of the heating season. In total, we repaired 23 thermal units power plant. We returned eight power units after shelling,” he said.
According to the schedule, DTEK plans to repair the power units in December for more reliable operation of the energy system.
As is known, more than 10 GW of the main installed capacity is not available in the energy system and is under the control of the occupiers. This is the largest Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine and Europe, Zaporozhye Thermal Power Plant, Lugansk Thermal Power Plant, Uglegorsk Thermal Power Plant. About 5 GW more were damaged by Russia’s shelling last winter.
Remind us that Ukraine is building a three-level protection of energy infrastructure facilities. Energy workers and military personnel are organizing the protection of substations and autotransformers throughout Ukraine.
Electricity consumption in Ukraine is at a record level. In order to avoid blackouts and maintain balance in the energy system, emergency aid was called in again yesterday from Romania and Poland.
