Now the Ukrainian and Polish sides are coordinating technical issues of transporting trucks by train.
The other day, a video was published on the Internet showing Ukrainian trucks loaded on piggyback platforms moving along the railway. Tkachev confirmed this information. So, our exporters are trying to solve the problem of crossing the Ukrainian-Polish border, which was blocked for a month by Polish carriers.
“Now we have a loaded train standing at the crossing with Hrubieszow (checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Polish border Izov – Hrubieszow – ed.). We now have 23 loaded piggyback cars with trucks,” said Tkachev at a meeting with agricultural exporters.
According to him, the Ukrainian and Polish sides are now coordinating technical issues. Polish customs have questions about cargo dimensions, as well as the presence of fuel in the trucks’ tanks.
“In the near future, we will try to solve these issues so that it will be allowed. As soon as this test train passes and everything is in order, we will launch it en masse,” promised Tkachev.
He added that the operator of such cargo transport by train is the Ukrainian State Center for Transport Service Liski.
We remind you that since November 6, on the Ukrainian-Polish border, due to a strike, the movement of trucks at three checkpoints has been blocked: Krakovets – Korczowa, Rawa-Russkaya – Khrebnoye and Yagodin – Dorogusk. There are thousands of trucks in the queue. On November 23, strikers blocked a fourth checkpoint, Shegini, for trucks. Polish carriers demand the abolition of the visa-free transport regime for Ukraine.
Ukraine has already suffered massive damage due to the actions of the Polish strikers.
