Resolving the issue of raising the excise tax on autogas is only a few months away, said the people’s representative.
The Verkhovna Rada should resolve the issue of raising the excise tax on autogas within a few months. This was said by the head of the parliamentary committee on financial policy, tax and customs, Danilo Getmantsev, enkorr reports.
“About 60 billion hryvnias of excise taxes and VAT are worth the budget revenues this year,” he said, noting that an increase in the excise tax on autogas is a prospect in a few months.
“The only argument why the excise tax of gas used to be low is that there were stronger lobbyists in the LPG market than in the gasoline market. The ratio should be in energy intensity. If we apply this logic to a rate in gasoline which is 213 euros per 1000 l, the gas rate should be 160-170 euros. This is European practice,” said Getmantsev.
We remind you that from July 1, fuel taxes in Ukraine have returned to the level implemented before the full Russian invasion of Ukraine: VAT – up to 20%, excise tax on fuel – up to 213 euros, on diesel fuel – up to 139 euros per 1000 liters. At the same time, the excise tax on autogas is 52 euros per 1000 liters.
In November, the average price of autogas at retail increased by 30%. It was reported that liquefied gas began to disappear from gas stations, and where it remained, prices rose daily and reached almost 40 hryvnias per liter.
