At the end of November, Ukrzaliznytsia transported 14 million tons of cargo, which is 33.8% more than the same period in 2022 and 4% more than October 2023. This is a record figure since the beginning of a large-scale war, reported of the Ukrzaliznytsia website on Tuesday, December 5.

“In domestic traffic, Ukrzaliznytsia transported 7.3 million tons in November 2023, which is 19% more than in November last year, export transportation increased by 56.2% – up to 6 million tons, traffic of import – by 35.4% – up to 679,000 tons, transit – 2.2 times – up to 65.5 thousand tons,” the report said.
The leaders in the total volume of transportation in November were traditional grain cargo, of which 3 million tons were transported (+13% compared to November 2022), mineral construction materials – 3 million tons (+61.8%), iron and manganese ores – 3 million tons ( +2.5 times), hard coal – 2 million tons (7.7% less).
The most grain was exported – 2.4 million tons, which is 13% more than November 2022 and 40.4% more than October 2023.
Grain transportation at the ports in November reached 1.7 million tons, which is 1.7 times higher than in October of this year. At the same time, transportation through land border crossings decreased by 4.2% – up to 0.72 million tons.
Let’s recall that in November Ukrzaliznytsia warned about a possible “indexation” of transport costs. At the same time, the company assured that we are not talking about increasing tariffs.
