Kyiv has fulfilled all the obligations to unblock the border with Poland, which were determined at the trilateral meetings.
Ukraine has taken steps to unblock the borders with Poland, which was agreed with the European Commission and Warsaw. Deputy Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Sergei Derkach stated this during the telethon.
The official noted that there are already changes in the border blockade issue, as the Ugrinov-Dolgobychev checkpoint has been opened.
“In addition, according to the latest agreements with the European Commission and the Polish government, we have taken some measures that should really satisfy the protesters and stop the protest. In fact, all these measures have been completed, Derkach said.
The deputy minister added that Ukraine is technically ready to open new lanes for empty vehicles in the єCherga system, which was promised earlier. This is only possible if the border is opened.
According to Derkach, today there was a meeting of the Council on Transport, Trade and Energy at the European Commission, where, in particular, the blocking of the Polish border with Ukraine was discussed.
“Most EU states have come out in support of Ukraine. In fact, every country has condemned the protests taking place on the Ukrainian-Polish and Ukrainian-Slovak borders, which lead to economic damage for the entire EU and certainly does not help Ukraine win the war. Therefore, there are strong statements from several EU countries and from the EC on immediate measures for the Polish government,” he added.
We remind you that on November 6, a strike by Polish carriers began on the Polish-Ukrainian border. They demand the abolition of the transport visa-free regime for Ukraine and the return of the permit system for Ukrainian drivers.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said his country would ask for the return of EU permits for Ukraine.
