Germany cuts exports to Russia by more than 40% by 2023

Imports from the Russian Federation to Germany for the January-October period of this year decreased by 90%.

The volume of German exports to Russia in January-October 2023 decreased by 40.4% compared to the same period last year, to 7.6 billion euros, while imports decreased by 90%, to 3.3 billion euros . This is stated in the report of the Federal Statistical Office of Germany (Destatis).

The total volume of German exports, adjusted for calendar and seasonal factors, in October decreased by 0.2% compared to the previous month – to 126.4 billion euros. Import volumes decreased by 1.2% to 108.6 billion euros.

Exports of German goods to EU countries fell by 2.7% compared to September, while deliveries to non-EU countries increased by 2.9%.

Exports to the USA increased by 5.7%, to China – by 1.5%, and to the UK – by 5.6%.

Imports from EU countries in October decreased by 2.8%, from countries outside the EU – by 4.6%. Imports from China decreased by 2.4%, from Britain – by 15.1%, and from the USA – increased by 2.2%.

As we wrote earlier, the Russian ruble on the Moscow Exchange is worth less than one cent.

It was also reported that the media calculated the losses of the Russian economy in 2026.
