At the end of the autumn-winter season, it is planned to import another 177 thousand tons of thermal coal.
To date, DTEK has imported 103 thousand tons of coal from Poland to the company’s thermal power plants. This was announced by Ildar Saleev, General Director of DTEK Energy, on Facebook.
Due to the cold snap in recent days, the load on the energy system has increased significantly. Especially for thermal generation, balancing it with its shunting capacity at peak power consumption.
According to Saleev, the additional amount of coal will allow the Ukrainian thermal generation and the energy system as a whole to go through the heating period more reliably.
Coal supplies continue regularly, because within the scope of the volumes contracted by the company, it is planned to import another 177 thousand tons of thermal coal at the end of the autumn-winter season.
“This will help maintain the reliability of thermal generation and the energy system so that Ukrainians have light and heat in the winter,” said the CEO of DTEK Energy.
We remind you that on October 20, DTEK received the first 40 thousand tons of imported coal. On November 13, DTEK contracted 70 thousand tons of thermal coal in Poland, thus increasing the total volume of coal imports to 280 thousand tons.
