Greece’s three largest shipping companies have stopped transporting Russian oil.
The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption removed three Greek shipping companies from the list of international war sponsors. The NAPC press service reported this on Friday, November 24.
The companies in question are Thenamaris Ships Management Inc., Minerva Marine and TMC Tankers LTD. The corresponding decision was made after the companies stopped transporting Russian oil.
It is noted that last summer the NAPC determined the status of war sponsors in five Greek companies, including those mentioned above. The companies delivered Russian oil and petroleum products, thereby replenishing the Russian budget.
We remind you that the day before it became known that three large Greek shipowners – Minerva Marine, Thenamaris and TMS Tankers – stopped transporting Russian oil in recent weeks after new sanctions from the United States.
According to media reports, the departure of these companies will significantly reduce the number of ships ready to deliver raw materials from the Russian Federation, but for now traders do not see a lack of tons in Russian oil market.
As reported, Denmark plans to start checking tankers carrying Russian oil in its waters, and also block them if necessary.
