Representatives of Polish carriers blocking the border with Ukraine also took part in the protest.
Representatives of the Union of Road Carriers of Slovakia (UNAS) on Thursday, November 16, blocked the border crossing with Ukraine Wisne Nemecke for an hour from the Slovak side, expressing solidarity with the Polish protesters. This was reported by the TASR agency.
Carriers blocked the road for vehicles to cross from 13:00 to 14:00. Representatives of Polish carriers that blocked the Ukrainian border on Polish territory also took part in the protest.
“If there is no progress, the Poles will continue to block the border, and we will join by blocking everything in Wisne-Niemecke. We will be forced, because there is no other way,” said the head of UNAS Stanislav Skala .
He noted that Hungarian colleagues are already making similar calls.
We remind you that the previous day, Slovak carriers threatened to completely block the Ukrainian border if the European Commission did not intervene in the situation.
They demand that Brussels introduce transport permits for Ukrainian vehicles, because European companies cannot compete with them – this is the same thing demanded by the protesters on the Polish border with Ukraine.
The European Commission said that one of the main demands of Polish carriers blocking the Ukrainian border is not legally possible.
