DTEK has contracted 70 thousand tons of thermal coal in Poland, thus increasing the total volume of coal imports to 280 thousand tons. This was reported by the press service of the energy company on Monday, November 13.
“Coal is necessary for the production of electricity in thermal power plants and, accordingly, for the stable operation of the entire energy system of Ukraine. The contracts provide for the supply of coal throughout the heating period, from September of this year to March So, until now, coal has been imported and delivered The company’s thermal power plant contains about 78 thousand tons of imported fuel,” said the statement.

In turn, the General Director of DTEK Energy Ildar Saleev said that his company is intensively preparing for the winter season.
“Understanding all the challenges of the heating season, we not only intensively repair and restore power units, continue to extract coal at maximum capacity for thermal power plants, but the rear is also strengthened if possible. To do this, we have built a reserve of critical equipment in case of new attacks, thermal power plants and mines have been provided with a backup power source. Such safety net is the additional imported coal we bring to Ukraine,” he said.
