The property of Russian businessman Boris Aleshin, who is on the EU sanctions list, was seized.
In Finland, the property of Russian businessman Boris Aleshin, who is on the sanctions list of the European Union and is associated with the Russian defense industry, was seized. YLE reported it.
The confiscation was carried out in September at the initiative of the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to the bailiff’s decision, two adjacent plots of real estate near the town of Longwick were confiscated. The value of the objects is more than 2.5 million euros.
In the summer of 2020, Aleshin sent an application to the Finnish Ministry of Defense for permission to purchase the site. It says that the businessman spent his holidays in these places, where he preferred to spend time fishing.
The European Union included 68-year-old businessman and scientist Boris Aleshin on its sanctions list this summer over Russia’s all-out aggression against Ukraine. Aleshin works in many companies related to the Russian military industry.
In particular, he was a scientific and technological advisor to the general director of the state-owned United Aircraft Corporation (UAC). Subsidiaries of this concern produce MiG and Sukhoi fighters. Aleshin also heads the board of directors of the Kronstad company, which produces Orion unmanned military drones.
As I wrote Correspondent.net, more and more of the Russians’ properties were being taken from the West. But they did not reach Ukraine. Recently in the United States there was talk about transferring assets worth a billion dollars to Kyiv, but this is still a big question.
