The initiative comes as Musk plans to introduce more paid features, as dating apps usually come with paid subscriptions.
American entrepreneur Elon Musk will turn the social network X (formerly Twitter), which he acquired last year, into a dating site and digital bank. The Business Insider portal reported this on Friday, October 27, in connection with a recently held meeting of X.
The publication clarified that on Thursday, October 26, a meeting was held via videoconference at X with the participation of Musk and the company’s CEO Linda Yaccarino. At the meeting, the businessman said that “X in 2024 will be a full-fledged dating site, as well as a digital bank.”
The businessman did not reveal the details of his plan, but said about the dating function that the availability of the service depends on the demand. The publication notes that the initiative fits in with Musk’s plans to introduce more paid features, as dating apps usually come with a paid subscription.
According to the agency, Musk also has ideas for creating a news service called XWire, which could compete with Cision’s PR Newswire.
Earlier, Elon Musk announced that the social network X will feature video and audio calls. An early version of this feature is already available on the iOS operating system.
We remind you that the owner of X (formerly Twitter), Elon Musk, denied information about the alleged withdrawal of the social network from the European market due to the new digital law.
