Exchange offices sell dollars on average for 38.00 hryvnia, and cash euros for 40.60 hryvnia.
Dollar and euro exchange rates decreased by several kopecks in the cash market on Wednesday, October 25. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with market monitoring data.
Thus, the average dollar exchange rate in banks decreased by 6 kopecks – to 38.04 Hryvnia for sales and to 37.44 Hryvnia for purchases. The euro fell by 7 kopecks to 40.63 and 39.82 hryvnias, respectively.
Exchange offices buy dollars on average at 37.54 and sell them at 38.00 hryvnia per dollar. On average, cash euros are bought at 40.01 and sold at 40.60 hryvnias per euro.
In the interbank foreign exchange market, since morning the rate is at the level of 36.57-36.59 (buying and selling).
The National Bank today slightly increased the official rate compared to the previous day – to 36.5790 Hryvnia. The single European currency also rose in price and is now worth 38.9091 hryvnias per 1 euro.
We remind you that on October 3, the National Bank introduced a regime of managed flexibility of the exchange rate. Before this, since the beginning of the war, the regulator maintained a fixed exchange rate of the hryvnia to the dollar – first 29.25 UAH/dollar, and from July 21, 2022 – 36.57 UAH/dollar.
Now the banks will sell and buy money at a free rate without the limit of 1% of the official rate that has been in force since the beginning of the war. Taking into account the exchange rate in the interbank market, the NBU will set the official rate. However, the regulator promised to significantly limit changes in the exchange rate, preventing both a significant weakening of the Hryvnia and a significant strengthening. In recent days, the dollar’s exchange rate has been gradually increasing.
