SpaceX and the European Space Agency have signed an agreement for two launches next year.
Businessman Elon Musk’s American company Space X has signed an agreement to launch at least four flagship European Galileo satellites next year. The Wall Street Journal writes about it on Monday, October 23.
According to Javier Benedicto, director of navigation at the European Space Agency, the agreement provides for two launches in 2024. Two Galileo satellites will be launched into orbit on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. They will be launched from the United States. They are designed to provide navigation and secure communication.
According to the publication’s sources, the European Commission, together with the EU member states, still need to give final approval to the agreement.
We remind you that on October 5, the launch of the Falcon 9 vehicle launched another batch of 22 mini-satellites into orbit to replace the orbital constellation of the Starlink system.
In June, Space X launched Indonesia’s first Internet satellite, SATRIA-1, into Earth orbit, allowing even the poorest and least accessible regions of the country to connect to the Internet.
