The State Customs Service, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, identified more than 3,000 cases of non-acceptance of humanitarian aid by military units.
Since the beginning of 2023, from 9,000 verified facts of the movement of humanitarian aid goods to the military, in more than 3,000 cases it has not been confirmed that it reached military units. This was reported by the press center of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
“During the nine months of 2023, based on the results of joint activities, more than 9,000 facts of the movement of humanitarian aid goods in 200 military units were verified. More than 3,000 cases of non-confirmation of its reception in military units is determined,” the message said.
It was noted that such facts were revealed thanks to the implemented mechanism of joint control over the receipt of humanitarian supplies by military units. This provides an opportunity to quickly exchange information on confirming the receipt of such goods by military units and determining dangerous customs clearances.
Currently, customs officials have sent 387 reports to law enforcement agencies about facts that indicate signs of a crime. Also, 320 protocols were made on violations of customs rules, where the objects of violation were humanitarian aid goods.
The Customs Service recalled that the importation of commercial goods under the guise of humanitarian aid is a violation of current law and implies liability.
Earlier it was reported that humanitarian aid worth 33.6 million hryvnias disappeared from the United States in Lviv.
