Of the three Wizz Air aircraft currently at Zhulyany airport, only one is operational.
The Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air was dismantled for two parts of the three Airbus 320 aircraft that were stuck at the Ukrainian airport Kyiv (Zhulyany) after the full invasion of the Russian Federation. Wizz Air CEO Jozsef Varadi revealed this in an interview with the Italian publication L’Economia.
“We managed to save one ship that remained in Lviv (the plane was evacuated, and now it flies regularly. – Ed.). Three remained: of two, we managed to bring the engines to Poland. One ship was left – it’s in good condition, but we can’t get him out of the country safely yet,” he said.
According to Interfax-Ukraine agency sources, two aircraft, the engines of which were evacuated to Poland, were completely dismantled for spare parts. The third vessel is receiving necessary maintenance in Ukraine and is ready to depart under favorable circumstances.
We remind you that Ryanair is considering the possibility of resuming flights to Ukraine before the end of the year. The first direction is Kyiv-Lviv.
