According to him, UAH 3.9 billion was invested in the repair of thermal power plants. As of early October, the company had completed repairs to 16 of its 19 planned power units. So far, the group’s thermal generation readiness has reached 84%.
Two power units of the thermal power plant were reactivated and modernized, adding an additional more than 500 MW to the capacity of the Ukrainian energy system.
Additional structures were installed on the territory of thermal power plants to protect the equipment. Also, critical equipment of thermal power plants and mines have been provided with backup power source. For this purpose, 224 generators were purchased.
For immediate repairs in case of shelling, a stock of critical equipment worth UAH 1.3 billion was formed.
Timchenko added that based on this year’s results, investments in coal mines will double – to UAH 7.4 billion. During the nine months of this year, 18 new longwalls were installed, and nine more will be launched by the end of the year. In addition, DTEK imported 210 thousand tons of coal to ensure a stable winter.
It is noted that in 2023 the speed of drilling gas wells will triple compared to last year. Nine wells will be drilled this year, and drilling has already begun on the first oil well. Overall, investments in gas production increased to UAH 5.5 billion.
Maxim Timchenko said that over the past winter, DTEK employees have become more professional and experienced.
“We restored what could be restored, bought backup equipment and further protected power plants,” he emphasized.
Earlier, DTEK announced the consolidation of efforts in the energy industry for the winter. If necessary, the company is ready to assist state-owned generation enterprises with coal.
It was also reported that in September DTEK provided a connection to a new water pipeline in Krivoy Rog. Power engineers replaced a 2.5 MVA transformer in the substation with almost three times more power – 6.3 MVA.
