The fund praised Ukraine for adopting the law on the continuation of e-declaration and the adopted changes to the Budget Code, but said there is still work to be done.
The International Monetary Fund expects Ukraine to adopt a law on monitoring the finances of politically exposed persons and the continuation of tax audits. The head of the IMF mission in our country, Gavin Gray, said this at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday, October 4.

He noted that the assessment under the second review of the EFF Extended Funding Program will be based on the main activities already carried out by the Ukrainian authorities.
“This is an important starting point,” he said and added that an important achievement of Ukraine during the implementation of the program was the adoption of the e-declaration renewal law and the adopted amendments to the Budget Code .
At the same time, the head of the IMF mission said that “among the structural reforms and beacons of the program there are some measures, especially in the field of anti-corruption and financial law, which we will consider (next revision of the program – ed.).
According to Gray, the IMF expects that in the next few months Ukraine will adopt a law on monitoring the finances of politically exposed persons and resume tax audits.
“I think it’s two key elements,” he stressed.
As you know, in March the IMF approved a four-year financing package for Ukraine worth $15.6 billion. In total, this year Ukraine has the opportunity to receive three tranches from the fund totaling $4.5 billion. On July 3, it became known that Ukraine received $890 million from the IMF. At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities must implement a number of structural beacons to continue funding.
This week, the IMF mission began meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, as well as with other key partners.
