At the end of the day, the National Bank will announce the new dollar exchange rate for October 4, taking into account trading in the interbank foreign exchange market.
The price of the dollar in the cash market increased significantly after the National Bank’s decision to switch to exchange rate flexibility. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with market monitoring data on Tuesday, October 3.
So, in the morning, the average dollar rate in exchange offices immediately increased by 25 kopecks – to 38.40 Hryvnia, the euro rate increased by 10 kopecks – to 40.80 Hryvnia.
In exchange offices they bought a dollar for an average of 37.80 UAH, and a euro for 40.10 UAH.
As is known, from October 3, the National Bank introduced a regime of managed flexibility of the exchange rate. Before this, since the beginning of the war, the NBU maintained a fixed exchange rate of the hryvnia against the dollar: first 29.25 UAH/dollar, and from July 21, 2023 – 36.57 UAH/dollar.
It is expected that today the NBU will publish a new rate for October 4, taking into account trade in the interbank foreign exchange market.
We remind you that in September the NBU sold a record volume of foreign currency since January. And since the beginning of the year, the regulator has sold $19.4 billion to maintain market balance.
