The average price for Russian Urals oil in September was more than $83 per barrel, which is more than $20 higher than the price ceiling set by Western countries. The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation announced this on October 2.

The average price for Urals oil in September was $83.08 per barrel. This is 1.2 times higher than in 2022 (in September last year – $68.25 per barrel).

In January-September 2023, Urals averaged $59.54 per barrel. In January-September 2022 – $80.58 per barrel.

For the past two months, Russian oil supplies have been flowing above the price set by Western countries at $60 a barrel. But since its introduction, the average price is still within the limits.

The average price for Brent oil in September was $93.98 per barrel, that is, the discount on Russian oil was slightly more than $10.

We remind you that on December 5, 2022, a ban on the import of oil from the Russian Federation by sea was implemented. In addition, more than 30 countries around the world have set a price ceiling for oil from Russia at $60 per barrel.

And on February 5 of this year, the EU established two price limits for oil products from the Russian Federation: $100 per barrel for highly processed products, including diesel fuel, kerosene and gasoline, and $45 per barrel for cheaper oil products, such as fuel oil.
