The Federal Air Transport Agency is asking companies not to allow some planes to fly overseas because of the risk of arrest. Exceptions are made for flights to Belarus and Turkey.
Russian airlines are advised not to fly abroad on planes owned by State transport leasing company (DTLC), is undergoing bankruptcy proceedings. They might be arrested in another country. The Russian publication RBC writes about it.
We are talking about 50 Airbus and Boeing aircraft operated by five Russian air carriers – Aeroflot, S7, Russia, Yamal And Aurora.
The Federal Air Transport Agency recommends that airlines not use the planes for international flights State transport leasing company. DTLC’s subsidiaries are subject to bankruptcy proceedings in other countries.
“The decision was made due to the risk of arresting aircraft of foreign subsidiaries of DTLC undergoing bankruptcy proceedings. Exceptions were made for flights to Turkey and Belarus. The recommendation applies to a “special decision,” sources told RBC in aviation circles.
In the past, DTLC has removed several dozen Western-made aircraft under dual registration. These airliners are operated by Russian airlines. But the aircraft belongs to foreign legal entities registered in Ireland – GTLK Europe Capital and GTLK Europe. The Irish High Court ordered their extermination.
The S7 airline recently reported flight delays due to instructions from the Federal Air Transport Agency due to the risk of arresting the aircraft.
