In September, the National Bank sold the largest amount of foreign currency in the interbank market since January of this year – $2.691 billion. This was confirmed by the regulator’s data on Monday, October 2.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the National Bank, to maintain market balance, sold more than $19.4 billion, and bought only 195 million. The negative flip was $19.2 billion.
At the same time, in the past week, the regulator reduced the sale of foreign currency to $617 million compared to the previous two weeks, when this figure exceeded $800 million.
As you know, Ukraine pays for foreign currency spending through international financial aid. According to the Ministry of Finance, $3 billion was received in September. Grant funds provided on non-repayable terms account for more than 40% of total assistance.
