Now customs officials have no reason to accept any letters from law enforcement officials about their participation in customs procedures or influence on them.
The Cabinet of Ministers terminated the ability of law enforcement officials to interfere in the customs control process of goods by sending instructions to customs officials regarding the implementation of customs inspection of goods and participation in them in such inspections. This was announced by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Danilo Getmantsev, on Telegram on Tuesday, September 26.
According to him, the government, through a resolution dated September 19, 2023, excluded paragraph 14 from the Exhaustive List of Grounds, where the customs authority can conduct an inspection (re-inspection) of goods, provided for the possibility of law enforcement officers issuing mandatory instructions to conduct an inspection.
Getmantsev asked the business to inform him personally or the committee about cases of law enforcement officials ignoring the aforementioned government decision or interfering with the customs clearance process.
“I would like to remind customs officials that there are no grounds for receiving any letters from law enforcement officials regarding their participation in customs procedures or influence on them,” added the citizen’s representative.
We remind you that earlier the SBU eliminated corruption schemes in the tax service and three customs offices in the region of Ukraine.
