The automaker asked customers not to drive 2004-2015 ML, GL and R-class vehicles until inspection.

The recall applies to ML, GL and R-class vehicles manufactured between 2004 and 2015.
“Corrosion in the brake booster, in the worst case, can lead to damage to communication between the brake pedal and the brake system. As a result, the service brake fails,” the agency said in a statement.
993,407 vehicles will be recalled worldwide, including approximately 70,000 in Germany.
Mercedes-Benz confirmed the information of the German motor transport authority, saying that in extreme cases it may not be possible to brake the car using the service brake.
“This increases the risk of accidents or injuries,” the automaker said and asked not to use the cars until inspection.
The company aims to inspect these vehicles, and if necessary, its owners will offer a free alternative vehicle for the duration of their stay in the workshop.
Recall that in January of this year, Mercedes recalled more than 800 thousand cars due to a possible malfunction in the coolant pump.
And in 2021, Mercedes recalled 264,000 vehicles for the same reason. The recall then included C- and GLC-class cars produced between 2016 and 2020, including more than 120,000 cars in Germany itself.
