Naftogaz purchased more than 700 million cubic meters of gas from private gas producers worth more than UAH 9.2 billion. The company’s press service reported this yesterday.
“On the eve of the heating season, NJSC bought on the exchange more than 700 million cubic meters of gas worth more than UAH 9.2 billion. This allowed private producers to maintain liquidity and gradually increase their own production volumes of blue fuel,” the statement said.
It was also noted that the successful operation of new gas wells made it possible to increase the average daily gas production by 8% – up to 36.6 million cubic meters.
Naftogaz expects that the increase in production, including gas stored by private producers in storage facilities, will in the near future exceed the government’s target for the accumulation of “blue fuel” for the period of warming up.
It is known that at the beginning of the heating season, Ukraine must pump 14.7 billion cubic meters of gas into storage facilities.
We remind you that in August a new gas field was discovered in Ukraine, the reserves of which may reach 1 billion cubic meters.
Also last month, two new high-yield wells started up in Ukraine. They produce more than 430 thousand cubic meters of gas per day.
