In case of delays in raising funds from abroad or in the absence of such, the government will be forced to increase the attraction of funds from within the country, explained Sergei Marchenko.
The state budget of Ukraine for 2024 depends on the level and rhythm of international aid. Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko said this in a telethon on Thursday, September 7.
“The danger for us is obvious – this is the rhythm of the flow of external aid,” he said.
According to Marchenko, in the event of a delay in raising funds from abroad or in the absence of them, the government will be forced to increase the attraction of funds from within the country. This may have a negative impact on economic dynamics.
“We do not want to provoke this macroeconomic stability, which was achieved at the cost of extraordinary efforts, in any way or create problems in the future. We are doing everything to attract these funds,” assured the minister.
Earlier, Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal said that the government is completing the preparation of the draft state budget for 2024. The state budget 2024 is planned to be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada on September 15.
At the same time, at the end of August, Ukraine’s international reserves were reduced for the first time. This happened due to a decrease in international aid receipts.
