Racine, where (AP) – Several people were killed in a shooting at the southern Milwaukee cemetery Thursday afternoon, police said.
Racine police said on social media that several gunshots were fired around 2:30 PM at Graceland Cemetery in Racine, about 30 miles (48 miles) south of Milwaukee. All Saints Hospital of the Ascension, which is next to the cemetery, said it is treating a number of shooting victims.
It is not known if the suspect was killed or arrested.
The shooting occurred after a gunman killed his surgeon and three other people at the Tulsa medical office. This is the latest in a series of mass shootings in the United States, including a deadly shooting in Wallace, a school in Texas, and a supermarket attack in Buffalo, New York.
Racine’s All Saints Ascension hospital was closed after a “precautionary” hunt, the hospital said in a statement.
Three teenagers playing basketball in Lockwood Park, west of the cemetery, said they heard gunshots and were repeatedly hit by the fence behind them.
Three Brentleys, one of the men, began running toward his vehicle during the hunt. He and his sister Kelly Foster, both got in the car and went down the stairs, praying they would not be hurt.
“It needs to stop,” Brentley said of gun violence.
The shooting took place in Da’Shuntay L .. At King’s funeral, which was shot by Racine police on May 20, King’s sister Natasha Mullen said.
