A new gas field was discovered in Ukraine, the reserves of which may reach 1 billion cubic meters. This was announced by the company Ukrgasdobycha on Tuesday, August 29.
It is indicated that the testing of an exploratory well with a depth of about 4 thousand meters was completed this month. From here received an industrial flow of gas – more than 100 thousand cubic meters. m.
Before drilling the well, 3D seismic surveys were carried out, thanks to which the company’s specialists were able to refine its geological model.
“This is already a discovery of new hydrocarbon deposits made by our geologists in the last year. The study of the site took place almost from the beginning. By increasing the reserves, we are creating a prospect for a sustainable increase in gas production,” said the head of State. O. Director General of Ukrgasdobycha Oleg Tolmachev.
The company will continue exploration work in the field and plans to drill new wells in it.
Earlier in August, two new high-yield gas wells were put into operation in Ukraine. They provide more than 430 thousand cubic meters of gas per day.
And in May, another powerful gas well was installed in Ukraine – its flow rate is 580,000 cubic meters of gas per day.
