The hryvnia continues its rapid decline against the dollar and the euro at exchange offices. RBC-Ukraine reported this with reference to market monitoring data on Wednesday, August 23.
So, the average dollar rate immediately jumped by 30 kopecks – up to UAH 38.60, the euro exchange rate also increased by 30 kopecks – up to UAH 42.20.
In the exchange offices, the dollar was bought at an average of 38.00 Hryvnia, the euro at 41.50 Hryvnia.
Over the past 10 days, the price of the dollar has increased by about one hryvnia.
The official fixed dollar exchange rate of the NBU has not changed since July 21 last year – 39.7245 Hryvnia per dollar. On August 23, the official exchange rate of the euro grew significantly and now stands at UAH 39.889 per euro (+0.1645 UAH).
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine may abandon the fixed hryvnia against the dollar even before the end of the war.
At the same time, financiers and the population worsened their forecasts for the dollar in the next 12 months.
