The average dollar exchange rate on the cash market rose to UAH 38.15, while the euro rose to UAH 41.75.
The hryvnia exchange rate ends the working week with a decrease in exchange offices. But its pace has slowed, reports RBC-Ukraine, citing market monitoring data on Friday, August 18.
So, the average dollar rate increased by another 5 kopecks – up to UAH 38.15, the euro exchange rate also increased by 5 kopecks – up to UAH 41.75.
In exchange offices, they buy the dollar at an average of 37.50 Hryvnia, the euro at 41.00 Hryvnia.
Since the beginning of the week, the American currency has risen in price by more than 50 kopecks.
The official fixed dollar exchange rate of the NBU has not changed since July 21 last year – 36.5686 Hryvnia per dollar. The official euro exchange rate continues to decrease and is now at UAH 39.8415 per euro (-0.0695 UAH).
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine may abandon the fixed hryvnia against the dollar even before the end of the war.
Recall that according to the so-called Big Mac index, the dollar in Ukraine “should” be worth about UAH 18.82, and the hryvnia itself is undervalued by 49%.
