The average dollar exchange rate immediately increased by 30 kopecks – up to UAH 38.10, and the euro exchange rate increased by 5 kopecks – up to UAH 41.70.
The hryvnia intensified its decline against the dollar in the cash market. RBC-Ukraine reported this with reference to monitoring data on Thursday, August 17.
So, the average dollar exchange rate immediately increased by 30 kopecks – up to UAH 38.10, the euro exchange rate increased by 5 kopecks – up to UAH 41.70.
In exchange offices, they buy the dollar at an average of 37.50 Hryvnia, the euro – at 41.00 Hryvnia.
In total, since the beginning of the week, the American currency has increased in price by 50 kopecks.
The official fixed dollar exchange rate of the NBU has not changed since July 21 last year – 36.5686 Hryvnia per dollar. The official euro exchange rate continues to decrease and now stands at UAH 39.911. per euro (-0.0548 hryvnia).
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine may abandon the fixed hryvnia against the dollar even before the end of the war.
Remember that according to the so-called Big Mac index, the dollar in Ukraine should be worth about UAH 18.82, and the hryvnia itself is undervalued by 49%.
