The average dollar rate on the cash market rose to UAH 37.80, while the euro rose to UAH 41.66.
The hryvnia continues to depreciate in exchange offices. RBC-Ukraine reported this with reference to market monitoring data on Wednesday, August 16.
Today, the average dollar exchange rate increased again by 10 kopecks – up to 37.80 hryvnias, the euro exchange rate grew by 5 kopecks – up to 41.66 hryvnias.
Today at the exchange office they buy the dollar, on average, at 37.30 Hryvnia, the euro – at 40.95 Hryvnia.
The official fixed dollar exchange rate of the NBU has not changed since July 21 last year – 36.5686 Hryvnia per dollar. On August 16, the official exchange rate of the euro decreased slightly and now stands at UAH 39.9658 per euro (-0.0402 UAH).
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine may abandon the fixed hryvnia against the dollar even before the end of the war.
Recall that according to the so-called Big Mac index, the dollar in Ukraine “should” be worth about UAH 18.82, and the hryvnia itself is undervalued by 49%.
